Eastern Indochina Peninsula Will Experience Severe Wind and Rain

Influenced by the South China Sea Tropical Depression (Figure 1), the next three days will see moderate to heavy rain in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Specifically, central and northern Vietnam, southern Laos, and southern Thailand will experience heavy rain to intense downpours, with extremely heavy rain in localized areas. Accumulated rainfall in the aforementioned regions will range from 80 to 150 mm, with some areas receiving 180 to 300 mm (Figure 2). Additionally, winds of force 4 to 5 are expected in Vietnam and Laos, while the eastern coast of Vietnam and central Laos will see winds of force 6 to 7, with gusts reaching force 8 (Figure 3). Precautions are advised against potential secondary disasters triggered by the heavy precipitation, including flash floods, landslides, and debris flows.
