Australia's Northwest to Experience Intense Wind and Rainfall
Over the next three days, a tropical disturbance system will impact Australia (Figure 1). As a result, the northwest region of Australia will experience heavy to torrential rain, with localized extremely heavy downpours. Accumulated precipitation is expected to range from 40 to 100 mm, with some areas exceeding 200 mm (Figure 2). This will be accompanied by winds of 6 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, with gusts reaching 9 to 10 (Figure 3). Additionally, influenced by a westerly trough and a subtropical high, Australia will see a process of moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing torrential rain. Attention should be given to the potential secondary disasters caused by the heavy rainfall, such as flash floods and urban waterlogging.
