Kazakhstan and Afghanistan Experience Severe Temperature Drops Accompanied by Rain and Snowfall
Over the next three days, influenced by the eastward movement of an upper-level trough (Figure 1), northern Kazakhstan, western Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and eastern Afghanistan will experience light to moderate snow or sleet, with heavy to severe snowfall in some areas and localized extreme snowfall. Accumulated snowfall is expected to range from 8 to 20 millimeters, with localized totals exceeding 25 millimeters (Figure 2). Most of these regions will also see a temperature drop of 6-8 ℃, with localized decreases surpassing 12 ℃ (Figure 3).
