Fire Situation Along the China-Mongolia Border
At 14:00 on October 22, 2026, real-time observations detected two active fires in Mongolia, located at 114.58°E, 46.18°N and 114.32°E, 46.52°N. Both fires were extinguished by 08:00 on the 23rd. At 09:40 on the 23rd, a new high-temperature hotspot was detected at 115.36°E, 48.96°N, where prevailing westerly winds were blowing at force 5 (9.6 m/s) (Figure 1).
Over the next 3 days, the eastern Mongolia-China border region will experience relatively low humidity, with mostly clear to cloudy skies and scarce precipitation. From October 24 to 25, an upper-level trough will shift eastward and affect Mongolia (Figure 2). Influenced by it, the eastern Mongolia-China border region will see northwest winds of force 3-4, with gusts of force 5-6 (Figure 3), and temperatures will drop by 3-5°C.
