Heavy rainfall will continue in northern Thailand with high risk of flash floods and geological disasters
During the past week (August 18-24th), under the influence of the monsoon trough, continuous heavy rainfall occurred in northern Thailand with accumulated rainfall reaching 50-200mm, and locally approaching 300mm; it is expected that during the next three days (August 25-27th), moderate to heavy rain will heppen in the central and northern parts of Thailand, with heavy rain in some parts of the north, and locally severe heavy rain. Local flooding will maybe occur in these areas due to the intense precipitation, with high risk of flash floods and geological disasters in some parts of northwestern Thailand (yellow alert).
