Heavy Rainfall in India and the Indochina Peninsula 

Affected by the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Disturbances (Fig. 1),？ heavy to torrential rain, accompanied by severe convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation and thunderstorm gales, is expected over the next three days across central and western coastal India, northeastern India, northern Pakistan, southwestern Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Cumulative rainfall will range from 80 to 180 mm, with 200 to 300 mm in some areas, and exceeding 500 mm locally in central India (Fig. 2). Attention should be paid to guarding against secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and mudslides that may be triggered by the persistent heavy rainfall.
