Venezuela to Experience Frequent Showers Over the Next Three Days

Influenced by the easterly flow of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (Figure 1), Venezuela is expected to experience frequent showers from June 29 to July 2. The precipitation will primarily consist of light to moderate rain, with localized heavy rain. Accumulated rainfall in the central and southern regions will range from 25 to 60 mm, locally exceeding 70 mm, while the earthquake-affected areas and their surroundings (La Guaira State, Capital District Caracas, Miranda State, and Carabobo State) will see accumulations of 10-35 mm (Figure 2). Specifically, on the 30th, moderate to heavy rain is expected in western Venezuela (Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes, and Guárico States) and southern Venezuela (Amazonas, Apure, and Bolívar States), with showers in the north. On the 1st, moderate to heavy rain will affect western Venezuela (Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes, western Guárico, Lara, and Zulia States) and southern Venezuela (Amazonas, Apure, and Bolívar States), with some areas accompanied by severe convective weather such as thunderstorm gales and short-term heavy rainfall. On the 2nd, moderate to heavy rain will continue in parts of western Venezuela (Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes, and Zulia States) and southern regions (Apure, northern Amazonas, and Bolívar States), with some areas again experiencing severe convective weather including thunderstorm gales and short-term heavy rainfall.
