Tropical Disturbance to Lash Northern Philippines with Strong Winds and Heavy Rain

Affected by a tropical disturbance (Figure 1), from the 23rd to the 25th, the northern Philippines will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, with locally extreme downpours; the accumulated precipitation during the event will range from 120 to 200 mm, and locally exceed 300 mm (Figure 2). It will be accompanied by winds of force 4–6, with gusts of force 7–9. Caution should be taken to guard against secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and debris flows that may be triggered by the heavy rainfall.
