Analysis based on FY4A meteorological satellite images, the severe cyclone stormTAUKTAE intensified into a very severe cyclone storm at 00UTC of this morning, the 16 May 2021. Its center located over the sea about 340 kilometers northwest of Mengalore, India. The maximum wind near the center was about 35 m/s and the minimum pressure at the center was 970 hPa.

It is very likely to intensify during next 24 hours and very likely to move north-northwestwards and reach Gujarat coast of India in the evening hours of 17th May and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva of India around 18th May early morning. （Donglin, Zhou qingliang）
