Portugal and Spain Will Experience Severe Wind and Rain
From November 12 to 15, influenced by a stable and slow-moving low vortex, regions including Portugal, Spain, Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, northern Germany, and southeastern France will experience moderate to heavy rain. Parts of Portugal and western Spain are expected to see heavy downpours or intense rain, with cumulative rainfall totals ranging from 40 to 70 mm in these areas, 80 to 120 mm in some regions, and locally exceeding 150 mm. Additionally, due to the eastward movement of an upper-level trough, heavy to severe snowfall is anticipated in central and northern Norway, northern Sweden, and northern Finland, with localized extreme snowfall (Figure 1). These regions will also experience temperature drops of 4 to 6°C, with some local areas seeing exceeding 8°C. Most of these regions will be accompanied by strong winds of 4 to 6 levels, with gusts reaching 7 to 8 levels, and locally up to 9 to 10 levels (Figure 2). Precautions are advised against the adverse impacts of the heavy rain, strong winds, and snowfall on local power transmission and shipping traffic.
