China and ASEAN countries, interconnected by both land and sea, have long stood in solidarity and mutual support. Sharing similarities in the types of meteorological disasters, both are susceptible to threats such as typhoons and torrential rains. Economically, ASEAN countries and China share the fundamental mission of advancing development and enhancing people’s wellbeing.

Recently, the United Nations launched the "The Global Initiative on Resilience to Natural Hazards through AI Solutions," which aimed to use advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence to enhance human resilience to natural disasters and reduce disaster risks.

Access to high-quality, high-resolution Earth system analysis and prediction products is essential for all National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) to forecast weather conditions including high-impact phenomena and issue warnings on hazardous weather, water and climate events to their public. The improvement in access to Earth system prediction products will enhance national early warning systems, resulting in saving more lives and better protecting properties.
