Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil Will Experience Heavy Rainfall
From October 16 to 18, influenced by the convergence of warm and cold air at the edge of the subtropical high and low-level shear (Figure 1), a significant rainfall event is expected in northern Argentina, central and southern Paraguay, southern Brazil, and southern Bolivia. Most of these regions will experience moderate to heavy rain, with localized severe storms or torrential downpours accompanied by intense convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation. The cumulative rainfall during this period is anticipated to reach 30-80 mm, with isolated areas exceeding 120 mm (Figure 2). Attention should be given to the potential secondary disasters triggered by the heavy rainfall in these regions, including flooding, landslides, debris flows, and urban waterlogging.
