Tropical storm "Filipo" in the South Indian Ocean landed in Mozambique
1、Observation
Tropical Cyclone (TC) "Filipo" in the South Indian Ocean rapidly weakened to TD after making landfall in Inhambane Province, Mozambique, around 11 a.m. on the 12th. At 00 UTC 13rd March, the TC center is around 25.0 S, 33.5 E within Gaza Province, Mozambique, with a minimum central pressure of 1002 hPa and maximum sustained winds 15 meters per second. Due to its influence, heavy rainfall observed over southeastern Mozambique on 12nd, with localized severe downpours reported.

2、Forecast
Tropical Cyclone "Filipo" is predicted to fast moving southeastward towards the open water with a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour, and undergoing extratropical transition on 14th. Its intensity is likely to be maintained or slight intensified. Heavy rainfall including localized torrential downpours are forecasted over southern Mozambique, Swaziland, and eastern South Africa. Gales with coastal gusts exceeding Beaufort scale 8 to 10 is expected.
