Westerly and Northern Europe are experiencing heavy rain and snow

     From January 5th to 8th, the Atlantic low-pressure trough gradually moves eastward and northward, where the southwestern warm and humid airflow converges with high-latitude cold air over Western and Northern Europe, bringing heavy rain and snow to various countries in Western Europe, as well as Norway and Sweden. From the 5th to the 6th, Ireland and the United Kingdom will experience a transition from rain to snow, with the majority of the UK sustaining snowfall for several days. On the 7th, parts of the south may change to rain. Northern England may see additional snow  up to 30-40 cm, with Wales experiencing freezing rain. After the 6th, as milder warm air masses enter, melting snowpack may lead to minor river flooding,  and muddy roads, which could affect transportation to some extent.
