Continuous heavy rainfall in South Africa and Botswana
Beijing time from January 4 to 6, continuous rain occurred in the eastern part of South Africa and Botswana, with locally heavy rain. It is expected that the rainfall will continue before the 9th and the intensity will further strengthen. Parts of southern Botswana, eastern South Africa, southern Zambia, and northern Zimbabwe will experience heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms. The accumulated rainfall in southern Botswana and southeastern South Africa is expected to be 70-150 mm, with locally over 200 mm. The heavy rainfall may lead to local floods and landslides. In addition, slippery roads and road pooling should be attention.
