Deep Pressure will Affect Madagascar
Affected by the tropical low-pressure system moving westward in the Indian Ocean, rain will occur persistently from east to west in northern Madagascar from February 4th to 6th, with locally severe heavy rain. Gale will effect central and southern parts of the island (Figure 1), and gusts with above 20m/s in the northeast and northwestern coastal areas . Particularly, from the night of the 4th to the 5th, the province of Toamasina will sustain heavy rain , with accumulated precipitation ranging from 90 to 120 millimeters, locally exceeding 150 millimeters (Figure 2). It is necesary to keep away the disasters such as flash floods and mudslides caused by locally heavy rainfall, as well as the the collapse of houses and facilities acoused by the gust.
