Eastern Southern Europe and northern Africa are experiencing severe winds and heavy rainfall
Affected by the low vortex over the Mediterranean (Figure 1), it is expected that from March 29th to April 1st, moderate to heavy rain will occur in Greece, southern Italy, central and northern Austria, northeastern coastal Algeria, and northeastern coastal Libya, with local heavy rain (Figure 2); accompanying this, the aforementioned areas will experience winds of grades 4-6, with gusts reaching grades 7-9, and the western Mediterranean sea and coastal regions will have gusts of grades 9-11 (Figure 3). Eastern Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula, Palestine, Syria, and central and western Turkey will experience a temperature drop of 6-10°C, with localized cooling exceeding 14°C (Figure 4). There will be sandlifting or sandstorms in northern Libya, western and northern Egypt, with locally intense sandstorms.
