Congo and other Central African countries experience frequent thunderstorms
southeastern South Africa has heavy rainfall
Affected by the circulation system on the edge of the South Atlantic High, most of Central Africa continues to experience frequent rainfall (Figure 1). From April 17 to 19, localized heavy to torrential rain is expected in southern Nigeria, eastern and central-southern Congo, most of the Democratic Republic of Congo, western and northern Tanzania, northeastern Malawi, southeastern Zambia, and central-northern Mozambique, accompanied by severe convective weather. Additionally, heavy to torrential rain, with isolated extreme downpours, is forecasted in southeastern South Africa on the night of April 16. Attention should be given to secondary disasters such as flooding, mudslides, and geological landslides triggered by the intense rainfall.
