High temperatures are expected to occur in Southwestern Europe and other regions
It is forecasted that over the next week, influenced by a slow-moving and intensifying upper-level warm ridge (Figure 1), high temperatures are expected to occur in Southwestern Europe and other regions. Most of France, Belgium, southern Netherlands, most of Germany, western Poland, Hungary, and Serbia will see maximum temperatures reaching 30-33°C, which is 4-8°C higher than the long-term average for this period. In central area of France, southern Portugal, southern and northeastern Spain, and southern Italy, maximum temperatures are expected to reach 35-37°C, with localized areas potentially exceeding 40°C (Figure 2).
