The fourth China-ASEAN Meteorological Forum was held in Nanning, Guangxi from September 17 to 19, 2025. The forum was jointly hosted by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Meteorological Service, China Meteorological Administration International Cooperation and Training Centre, and Chinese Meteorological Society, and co-organized by Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Big Data Development Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The events of the forum were attended by a total of 104 participants, including senior leaders from meteorological and hydrological services of China and ASEAN member states, representatives of the World Meteorological Organization(WMO), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific(UNESCAP), the Typhoon Committee and other international organizations, as well as representatives from Hong Kong and Macao of China.
Under the theme "Digital and Intelligent Empowerment for Meteorological Cooperation, Early Warnings for All to Benefit People’s Livelihood", the forum launched several key outcomes. These included the Launch of the China-ASEAN Joint Innovation Initiative for Meteorological AI Model Applications, the release of the China Meteorological Administration Global Climate Datasets, and the establishment of the shared "China-ASEAN Meteorological Home." Experts delivered invited reports on the development direction of China-ASEAN meteorological cooperation, practices and experiences in early warning, and the sharing of AI technologies. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions focused on " Empowering Meteorology with AI, Empowering Industries with Meteorological Intelligence" jointly promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of meteorological development in China and ASEAN member states. A session dedicated to Technical Exchanges on the Early Warnings for All initiative was convened alongside the main forum, and the 14th Session of the Joint Working Group on Meteorological Science and Technology Cooperation between the China Meteorological Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam was held.
