The Solomon Islands are experiencing strong wind and heavy rain

Recently, the tropical system in the southwestern Pacific has been active (Figure 1). Influenced by the periphery of Tropical Cyclone "Alfred," a Category 2 tropical cyclone, moderate to heavy rain will occur in the Solomon Islands and other areas over the next three days. Localized heavy rain or extremely heavy rain may occur, with accumulated rainfall amounts ranging from 50 to 100 millimeters, locally exceeding 150 millimeters (Figure 2), accompanied by strong winds of 6 to 8 levels. Local authorities should take precautions against the adverse effects brought by this intense wind and rainstorm.
