"Jude" will bring strong winds and heavy rain to areas such as Mozambique
The tropical cyclone "Jude" in the South Indian Ocean has made landfall on the eastern coast of Mozambique at 08:00 Beijing time on March 10th (Figure 1). It is expected that "Jude" will move towards the west at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, with its intensity weakening rapidly.
Affected by this, heavy to torrential rain will occur in the central and northern parts of Mozambique and the southern part of Malawi, with locally heavy rain or extremely heavy rain. The accumulated precipitation can reach 100 to 200 millimeters, with rainfall exceeding 300 millimeters in some areas (Figure 2). Gusts of 8 to 9 levels are expected in the central and northern parts of Mozambique and the coastal areas, as well as in the Mozambique Channel. The wind near the sea and areas where the center of "Jude" passes can reach 10 to 12-grade wind, with gusts of 13 to 14-grade wind(Figure 3).
